Virginia Tech took care of business on the basketball court this past weekend with a 67-57 victory against Pittsburgh. Additionally, the Hokies did well off the court hosting multiple talented recruits including priority 2020 big man target David N'Guessan.

Going into this visit, N'Guessan told us that the Hokies were currently in his top 3 alongside VCU and Saint Joseph's. Based on how things went this weekend, it seems very likely that Virginia Tech is the on-paper frontrunner.

N'Guessan told us that he had a "great" visit to Blacksburg that covered a lot of ground from spending time with coaches and players to experiencing an ACC game at Cassell Coliseum.

"I went to the game, had different meetings, did a photoshoot, hung out with the team, and ate a lot of food," N'Guessan said.

One of those meetings was with head coach Mike Young with David N'Guessan coming away liking the way that Young and his coaches approach the game of basketball.

"It was great, I like the way he and his coaching staff think about basketball," N'Guessan said.

David N'Guessan also spent plenty of time with Virginia Tech's current players and enjoyed the time he got to spend with the team, learning more about the program from them as well.

"It was great, they’re all fun guys and it was fun spending time with them, getting to know the players and the program better," N'Guessan said.

There were some unique things about this visit for N'Guessan from experiencing the college town vibe of Blacksburg to one unique trait about Virginia Tech's campus aesthetic.

"The college town was pretty cool, and to see all the building that are build with Hokie Stone," N'Guessan said on what wad unique about his visit.

However, what stood out the most was the family environment that N'Guessan experienced on his visit and the great environment he witnessed inside Cassell Coliseum.

"It really feels like a family," N'Guessan said. "The environment was great and everybody seems to be super supportive at Virginia Tech."

Virginia Tech made an impact on David N'Guessan's recruitment with the talented big man leaving impressed by the program. However, N'Guessan still wants to take some more visits just to make sure he's making the right decision.

"It definitely had an impact because I got to meet with everybody and got to see everything in person," N'Guessan said. "I liked it a lot but I still want to visit other schools to make sure that I’m making the right decision."

N'Guessan did add that he doesn't have any other visits currently scheduled though VCU and Saint Joseph's are likely top candidates to receive visits. Those visits seem likely to happen soon though with N'Guessan previously telling us that he plans to probably make a decision "next month."

Overall, Virginia Tech left a strong impression on David N'Guessan and have positioned themselves well entering the home stretch of his recruitment.
