Virginia Tech Offers Three-Star PF David N'Guessan

Basketball 1

After signing Joe Bamisile and Darius Maddox, Virginia Tech is still looking to add some size to their 2020 class with the Hokies extending an offer to three-star PF David N'Guessan.

N'Guessan told us that receiving a Tech offer was "very exciting" adding that Virginia Tech is a "great school in a great conference." He received the offer from assistant coach Antwon Jackson who N'Guessan told us that he had been in contact with "for a while."

N'Guessan had this to say about how this offer impacts his recruitment and Virginia Tech's standing in it.

"It impacts my recruitment a lot," David N'Guessan said. "It's a great program in a great conference and I’m excited to learn more about Virginia Tech."

The Hokies join a strong offer list for N'Guessan that includes VCU, DePaul, George Mason, Saint Joseph's, East Tennessee State, Howard, Towson, and Robert Morris. N'Guessan also is receiving lots of interest from Texas A&M, Dayton, and Cincinnati as the three-star PF is clearly a player on the rise at the moment.

Looking ahead, N'Guessan doesn't have any visits currently scheduled but he is hoping to visit Tech, VCU, DePaul, and Saint Joseph's. Additionally, N'Guessan told us that four schools are the ones that are currently recruiting him the hardest.

The Hokies see N'Guessan as a versatile forward with him sharing that Tech see him playing as a "stretch four or the three." N'Guessan believes that versatility is one of the strengths of his game while he also believes his shooting is an area he needs to improve the most.

"I play hard, I’m versatile and can do a little bit of everything. I got to work on becoming a more consistent shooter, and I have to get stronger," N'Guessan said.

That versatility appears to be a major reason for the Hokies offering him especially as they continue to look to add more size and length to their frontcourt.

Virginia Tech is still looking to add a forward or two to their 2020 class with David N'Guessan clearly being a top target.
