Goodner is the Hokies' 18th current commit in the 2021 and second from the state of Tennessee joining three-star WR Tray Curry. He's also Tech's second offensive line commit alongside European star Danijel Miletic.
Goodner had this to say about why he chose Virginia Tech.
"They have everything I want out of college and they really want me as their center in the future, and Blacksburg truly felt like home to me," Goodner said.
His relationship with offensive line coach Vance Vice also played a big role in his decision to commit to Virginia Tech.
"It was definitely very important, Coach Vice has easily been one of my favorite coaches I've talked to and he's the kind of coach I can see me having a ton of fun with but also truly respecting and learning from," Goodner said.
Bryce Goodner also visited Virginia Tech just a couple weekends ago and that visit helped the Hokies land the talented offensive lineman.
"That was also important, I know for a fact I wouldn't like living in a city. Blacksburg has the small town feel I've always loved and it really felt like a true college town to me and I loved it," Goodner said.
