Bryn Tucker is one of Virginia Tech's top overall 2020 targets with the elite offensive tackle among a small, elite group of visitors in Blacksburg this past Saturday.
"It was awesome. Every visit I take gets better and better," Tucker said about his Junior Day visit.
Tucker also said that "everything" stood out to him, but mentioned a portion of the academic tour that meant a lot to him.
"I got to visit the Business department and meet a professor. That was definitely a great learning experience," Tucker said.
So how important was that portion of Tucker's visit?
"It was very important. Education comes first so seeing them do that for me means a lot," Tucker said.
Tucker spent some time with the Hokies' coaching staff including a one-on-one opportunity with Justin Fuente where the Hokies' head coach made it clear how much of a priority Tucker is for him.
"He was very happy to see me," Tucker said. "He said 'he needs big guys like me to lead this team to a championship and you are the guy we need.'"
Bryn Tucker also spent a lot of time with Vance Vice and offensive quality control coach Beau Davidson, and had this to say about his time with Vice.
"He was impressed by the way I was in shape and how fit I looked. We caught up with our families and talked about football. I mostly spent the whole day with him and Coach Davidson," Tucker said.
Additionally, this visit continued to help Tucker build a stronger relationship with Vance Vice.
"We have a strong bond with each other. He’s definitely a person I can talk to any time and he’ll pick up the phone no matter what. It was great seeing him and catching up on things," Tucker said.
Overall, this visit had a strong impact on his recruitment as the Hokies continue to be a top contender for him. Looking ahead, Tucker will be visiting Clemson next week with a trip to Oklahoma also being considered.
The Hokies remain right among the top contenders for Bryn Tucker, but have a long way to go with Tucker not planning on making a collegiate decision till December.
