Virginia Tech has added their first cornerback commit to their 2020 class gaining a commitment from CB Dorian Strong.
As mentioned above, Strong gives the Hokies their first cornerback commitment of the 2020 class along with their second commit from the state of Maryland joining three-star RB Jalen Hampton
. Strong is also the second defensive back commitment for VT joining three-star 757 ATH Lakeem Rudolph
(recruited as a safety).
According to Evan Watkins of 247 Sports' VT Scoop, Strong "committed on the spot" after receiving an offer from the Hokies today.
Strong has been very much off-the-radar to date on the recruiting trail as he had one offer from Delaware State entering today according to 247 Sports
. Of course, the last time Virginia Tech gained a commitment from a player with few offers from Upper Marlboro, Maryland; they landed starting left tackle Christian Darrisaw who could end up being a four-year starter by the time his career is done.
