Virginia Tech takes on William and Mary this Saturday, and the tradition of a special teams player wearing jersey #25 continues. This week’s honored player is wide receiver Eric Kumah, head coach Justin Fuente announced on Twitter Friday. Kumah recorded four receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown in the win over FSU. His longest reception came on a 49-yard touchdown catch to give the Hokies their final score of the game and seal the victory. Keeping with the tradition of Beamerball at Virginia Tech, Kumah also had a significant contribution on the special teams side of the game. Late in the second quarter, he returned a blocked punt three yards for a touchdown to make the score 17-3 in favor of the Hokies. Chris Cunningham blocked the punt at the FSU three-yard line, and it was quickly recovered by Kumah, who ran it in for the score. The junior wide receiver joins Ricky Walker as the first two players to be honored with the #25 jersey this season. Kumah will sport the jersey this weekend when Virginia Tech kicks off against William and Mary at 2 p.m. in Lane Stadium.
