Ethan West has emerged as one of the top Virginia recruits in the Class of 2020 in another strong Richmond area class. West made his first trip to Blacksburg in mid-January and was offered a few months later in early May
. Now, West is set to take his first Hokies' visit since receiving a VT offer.
Ethan West told us that he will be visiting Blacksburg this weekend for Virginia Tech's home opener against William & Mary. This will be West's second visit to Blacksburg and first time visiting VT for a game. West also told us that he will be visiting Clemson next weekend.
What is West hoping to see and gain from his visit to Blacksburg?
"Just getting to talk with the coaches and further our relationship as well as get a feel for gameday atmosphere as a player," West told us.
Currently, West doesn't have a top group of schools though he did say that "there are a few schools that have caught my attention," but declined to mention which schools are included in that group at this time. West did tell us that Virginia Tech, Michigan, and Clemson are recruiting him the hardest with West feeling that the Tigers could be the next school to offer him.
West is a versatile athlete who has the skills to play tight end or linebacker at the next level. The Cosby HS ATH told us that he doesn't have a preference for position beyond the simple fact of whichever position "gets me on the field first."
Virginia Tech has had lots of success recruiting in the Richmond area in the 2019 and 2020 classes with four current commits from those 2 classes in the Richmond area. West told us that he has close relationships with VT commits William Pritchard and Jaden Payoute along with Penn State commit Hakeem Beamon.
The Hokies are one of the top contenders for Ethan West with a great chance to make a strong impression on him, and improve their standing in his recruitment even more this weekend.
