D.J. Harvey was one of many important recruits in campus this weekend for Junior Day. The four-star CB took part in "Midnight Madness" on Sunday morning, and he had great things to say about the experience.

"The atmosphere was cool," Harvey said. "Even though it was cold it had a nice little vibe to it, and the 66,000 fans sounds crazy."

While his time on campus was relatively short, Harvey said he enjoyed all of it. In particular, he was grateful for the opportunity to tour the facilities and try on some Virginia Tech uniforms.

Harvey said that one standout for him on his visit was the extent to which the coaching staff cares about their players. He added that he saw the coaches "want [players] to succeed in many ways."

Like many of the recruits at "Midnight Madness," Harvey spent the most time with assistant Beau Davidson. He said that Davidson encouraged him to keep visiting Virginia Tech.

"My time [with Davidson] was good," Harvey said. "He just wants me to come back and get more of the experience and be a part of their program."

Harvey is undoubtedly an elite player in the 2021 class. He has garnered much attention at Sierra Canyon High School in California, and he holds offers from the likes of Oregon, LSU, USC, and many more.

Even so, Harvey said that Virginia Tech is "definitely" in his top eight schools. He added that his working top eight list includes Oregon, LSU, Arizona State, and USC as well.

Harvey said he is still working on getting his official visits scheduled to the schools he is interested in. At this point, the Hokies seem to have a good chance of getting him on campus again for another visit.
