The speculation of change at quarterback has been swirling for some time now, and it seems we have a confirmation on the situation.

Tre Turner posted on his Instagram story Thursday night a picture that consisted of the wide receiver and quarterback Hendon Hooker with the message stating, “First Start Saturday 2!!! no need for the talkin. Go kill!” The post on Instagram and news was first reported by 247 Sports.

Earlier this week in a press conference, head coach Justin Fuente said that he would evaluate the current situation between Ryan Willis and Hooker, suggesting that a change was under consideration.

“Well we’ve got to find a way to be more efficient. Fuente said. “We’ve got to be more productive. It starts with those guys, [but] it involves everybody.”

For Hooker, this will be his first start for Virginia Tech, but he has seen the field multiple times in the past two years. His most notable appearance came last week when he was 1-2 in what was his first career pass attempts with Hooker coming out at QB to lead multiple drives in the second half.

Ryan Willis, who has struggled with five interceptions through four games, will still be available to quarterback during the game this Saturday at Miami.
