Virginia Tech hosted several recruits on visits during this past weekend's win over Rhode Island including 2021 three-star LB Jabril McNeill.

As his tweet suggests, McNeill's visit went quite well.

"I loved it. Great atmosphere, good people to be around and a great school all around," McNeill about his visit overall.

The majority of McNeill's visit was spent at Lane Stadium watching the Hokies beat Rhode Island, but he also had the chance to catch up with head coach Justin Fuente and DL coach Charley Wiles.

Both conversations went well as Justin Fuente gave him insight on his view of the direction of Virginia Tech football.

"It was good. He was talking to us about a lot of good happening at VT," McNeill said about his conversation with Fuente.

Meanwhile, Charley Wiles shared how he enjoys the style of play that McNeill brings to the field.

"It was good. Talking about how he liked how I play and can’t wait to see more," McNeill said about his conversation with Wiles.

Jabril McNeill also told us that the fans stood out praising the "great group of people" that make up Hokie Nation.

Overall, the visit began to make McNeill believe that Virginia Tech could be home for him in college while the Hokies' early involvement with McNeill will make them a factor throughout his recruitment.

"It really showed me how it could be a home, and VT will stay in it because they were the first to show love," McNeill said.

Looking ahead, McNeill told us that he plans to visit Wake Forest in a couple weeks while he is also looking at taking visit to North Carolina and East Carolina during the remainder of the 2019 college football season.

In the meantime, what's clear is that Virginia Tech will be a major factor in the recruitment of Jabril McNeill.
