Three-Star ATH Jaden Keller Updates His Recruitment With Winter Visits Coming

Jaden Keller October 2019 1

Many schools pursuing 2021 three-star ATH Jaden Keller may not be sure what position he will play at the next level, but what is clear is that Keller is a tremendous athlete who has the physical abilities to develop into a playmaker on offense or defense. His athleticism showed recently when he won the dunk contest at the Arby's Classic, a prestigious holiday high school basketball tournament in the Bristol area.

That athleticism, and especially his leaping ability, is one of the strengths of his game according to Keller. He also shared with us the areas where he feels he has the most room for improvement as a wide receiver and as a defensive back.

"Some of my strengths are my height and my jumping abilities. Some things I’m going to start working on are getting off the line and avoiding jams on the line of scrimmage," Keller said.

That athletic ability is a big reason for his solid offer list that includes the Hokies, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Virginia for the Bristol, TN star.

Looking ahead, Keller shared with us some of his general visits hopes and plans with Virginia Tech among those schools.

"I haven't set any dates yet but this month, I’m planning on visiting UVA, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Tech," Keller said.

Those four schools, in part because of being his lone Power 5 offers, have emerged as the early frontrunners though Tech is recruiting Keller the hardest at the moment.

At this point, the Hokies are continuing to pursue Keller as an athlete with the versatility to play either receiver or safety.

RBs coach Adam Lechtenberg, who has had a large role recruiting the state of Tennessee for the Hokies, is leading the charge for Tech. As Keller told us, Lechtenberg is a "cool dude" who is "really funny and always making jokes." Lechtenberg is also the coach who Keller feels he has the best relationship with among all schools involved in his recruitment, a great sign of Tech's strong position early in his recruitment.

Virginia Tech is making Jaden Keller a priority with the Hokies right in the hunt for the talented athlete from Bristol.
