2021 Three-Star TE Jordan Dingle Recaps His "Great" Virginia Tech Visit
After earning an offer this summer at a Hokies' satellite camp, 2021 three-star TE Jordan Dingle made his first trip to Blacksburg this past weekend and had a great experience.
"It was great, I loved the campus and all the love the coaches showed me," Dingle said.
During his first visit, Dingle was quite visit from conversations with head coach Justin Fuente and TEs coach James Shibest to touring campus and much more.
"We listened to a presentation explaining what VT’s about, then went to eat and bowl. Then, Coach Shibest took my family and I on a campus tour and afterwards, I met with Coach Shibest to talk football then with Coach Fuente as well," Dingle said.
Since being offered, TEs coach James Shibest has appeared to take a large role in Dingle's recruitment with the Kentucky native emerging as one of Virginia Tech's top 2021 tight end targets. That did not go unnoticed by Dingle on Saturday with the Hokies' TEs coach making it clear how much the Hokies want him as a part of their 2021 class.
"It was really good. He’s a great guy and has a good sense of humor, and really showed me that they want me," Jordan Dingle said about his time with TEs coach James Shibest.
Dingle and his family also had the chance to spend some time with Justin Fuente with the Hokies' head coach leaving a very good impression on the talented tight end.
"It was good as well. He made my family and I feel really welcome and expressed that they want me to be there and was very personable and family oriented," Dingle said.
While his time with the coaching staff was good, it was the family environment and the bond between the players and coaches that stood out the most to Dingle.
"The family feeling and the bond between the coaches, players, and the rest of the staff stood out," Dingle said on what stood out to him during his visit.
Jordan Dingle also mentioned that the atmosphere at Virginia Tech was unique while, as he saw, the family environment that was preached by the coaches was legit.
"The atmosphere of VT was great. I knew whatever the coaches said they meant it and treat everyone like family," Dingle said on what was unique about his visit.
So how did this visit impact his recruitment and view of Virginia Tech?
"Now I know what they are about and have to offer and can consider them to be where I may end up and can compare my experience there with other schools," Dingle said.
Looking ahead, Dingle told us that Virginia Tech is among the schools that he is hoping to visit this fall along with Ohio State, Louisville, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Purdue, and Georgia with the Bulldogs being the only ones who haven't offered him yet.
Virginia Tech left a strong impression on Jordan Dingle after his first visit as they make the Kentucky native a top priority at tight end in the 2021 class.
