Three-Star LB Jordan Poole Recaps His "Great" Virginia Tech Visit

VT v UNC 2019 256

Virginia Tech's biggest Junior Day of 2020 so far included one of their top 2021 linebacker targets, three-star recruit Jordan Poole.

Poole told us that he had a "great" visit and that it is "always a good time at VT" whenever he does visit Virginia Tech.

During his visit, Poole had the opportunity to spend time with coaches, check out Virginia Tech more, and take some pictures. Poole spent lots of time with coaches including head coach Justin Fuente, LBs coach Tracy Claeys, TEs coach James Shibest, and defensive assistant Jack Tyler.

One of the most notable events of his trip from an outsider's view was his time with Justin Fuente. Poole told us that the time he spent with him was "good" and that it's "always a good time talking to Fuente."

Poole also got to spend some time with linebackers coach Tracy Claeys, though Poole told us that this was not the first time that Poole met Claeys. That time with Claeys was also "good" as Poole told us with him feelign that he "really likes what he's going to do for Tech."

In addition, Poole spent time with defensive assistant Jack Tyler who likely will work with Poole plenty should he choose Virginia Tech. The time with Poole and the former Tech starting linebacker went quite well as Poole told us.

"It was good. I really enjoyed it since if I was to go to VT, I would probably spend much of my time with him," Poole said.

There were a couple things that were unique for Poole on this visit compared to past trips to Blacksburg and also among all schools involved in his recruitment.

"I got to see a little more of the education aspect, and how much of a football town Blacksburg really is," Poole said.

Poole added that what stood out the most to him was how he "got more of that home vibe" and saw "how they set you up to win," both major positives that show how well this visit went.

So how did this visit impact Poole's recruitment and Virginia Tech's standing in it?

"I definitely got more of the future home vibe and see myself there just a little more," Poole said.

Looking ahead, Poole told us that he does plan to return to Blacksburg to check out a spring practice for the Hokies.

Overall, what's clear is that Virginia Tech has made Jordan Poole one of their top linebacker targets and early on, they are in great position as they try to land the three-star LB from Oakboro, NC.
