After a slow fall to date, Virginia Tech finally received some good news on the recruiting trail as they landed a pair of commitments from twin three-star DBs Jayden and Jorden McDonald out of Salem HS in Salem, VA.
After an amazing call with @coach_ham & @beau_davidson, we (@jordensvibe) decided to de-commit from ULM to stay home and join the Hokie’s family! We are looking forward to playing at Lane Stadium...Go Hokies❗️@hokiesfb !!🦃@CoachP_eterson#HardHatMentality #ThisIsHome pic.twitter.com/ZJiT3GSOB2

Jayden and Jorden McDonald become the 22nd and 23rd commits for Virginia Tech in their 2021 class with the McDonalds projecting on the defensive side at either DB or LB given their size. The McDonald twins were previously committed to UL-Monroe before flipping to Virginia Tech.
Jayden McDonald had this to say about why he chose to flip his commitment to Virginia Tech.
"Great program, great tradition, with a great coaching staff, and it’s close to home," Jayden McDonald said.
Jorden McDonald had this to say about why he chose to flip his commitment to Virginia Tech.
"I decided to commit to Virginia Tech because it was closer to home, and they have a great coaching staff with a great winning tradition," Jorden McDonald said.
The McDonald brothers told us that they just received these offers yesterday and as we've seen, decided soon after to flip their commitments to the Hokies.
We will have more as this story develops.
