Sims became the seventh in-state signee for the Hokies this cycle joining three-star DBs Jalen Stroman, Jayden McDonald, and Jorden McDonald; three-star WR Jaylen Jones, three-star LB Isi Etute, and three-star ATH/LB/DE Keli Lawson.
Sims was previously committed to Wake Forest and decommitted yesterday also announcing scholarship offers from the Hokies and Virginia at the same time. While it's unclear if the offers came that day or earlier, what's clear is that Virginia Tech made a significant push and were able to get the job done.
Sims gives Tech four true wide receiver commitments including fellow Richmond standout Jaylen Jones plus Texas 3* slot receiver Da'Wain Lofton and Georgia 3* WR Christian Moss.
We will have more as this story develops.
