Even with three wide receivers commitments from Jaylen Jones, Tray Curry, and Da'Wain Lofton; Virginia Tech is still open to adding another wide receiver if it's the right player. Skyler Bell is one of those receivers.

The good news for Tech is that their continued prioritization of Bell is still paying off for the Hokies in his recruitment.

Bell told us that the Hokies are among five schools currently standing out in his recruitment along with Wisconsin, Iowa, West Virginia, and Rutgers. He had this to say about why Tech is currently standing out for him.

"They show love and have given me no reasons not to have them towards the top of my list. The coaches are great, and I love the family atmosphere there," Bell said.

Skyler Bell added that the Hokies and Wisconsin are the two teams currently recruiting him the hardest.

As has been the case for months, head coach Justin Fuente and WRs coach Jafar Williams are continuing to lead the charge with Bell telling us that he has a "great" relationship with Fuente.

Bell had this to say about his relationship with Jafar Williams.

"It’s great. We talk all the time. He's a great coach and even better person," Bell said.

Tech's message to Bell has also continued to focus around the fact that he is a top priority for VT.

"That I’m a priority for them and that they would love for me to be a part of their family," Bell said.

Looking ahead, Bell told us that he isn't sure when he will make a decision, but one may not be too far away.

"I don’t know how close but me and my family are feeling more comfortable with some schools," Bell said.

He also added that the five schools currently standing out for him are the same schools that he is "feeling more comfortable with." Additionally, Bell told us that he is "not really" considering any schools outside of those 5 "right now" though there could always be another school or 2 to jump into the hunt with a surprise offer.

Bell is definitely an intriguing, versatile prospect who not only could be used on the outside or possibly in the slot, but also has some potential as a return man. That versatility fits well in what the Hokies look for while it's quite clear that Tech has him as one of their top offensive prospects, especially given their continued pursuit of him.

Skyler Bell is getting closer to a decision and it's clear that the Hokies are a top contender to land one of their top remaining offensive targets.
