The coronavirus pandemic hasn't stopped college football recruiting even if how coaches pursue recruits has had to adapt due to the current realities. Here's the latest on a few Virginia Tech targets headlined by an update on four-star CB D.J. Harvey and a pair of three-star recruits from in-state and Florida.

Virginia Tech Makes The Top 6 For 3* LB Danny Stutsman

Virginia Tech made the top 6 for three-star LB Danny Stutsman out of Florida along with Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, and West Virginia.

Stutsman may be a fairly new name to many Tech fans who follow recruiting, but Stutsman has been fairly high on Virginia Tech's linebacker board for a while. He was also scheduled to take an early April visit to Virginia Tech prior to the coronavirus pandemic leading the NCAA to imposing a dead period through at least the end of May.

The fact that the Hokies offered and prioritized Stutsman early on is paying off now with Virginia Tech emerging as a top contender for the talented linebacker out of Florida. The Hokies also have a strong track record in the state of Florida and also are one of the better positioned schools regionally given the significant amount of Big 12 presence in his top 6.

We will have a more in-depth story on Stutsman soon, but what is clear is that Virginia Tech is making him a priority and emerging as one of his top contenders in the process.

Hokies Among 5 Standing Out For 4* CB D.J. Harvey

California four-star CB D.J. Harvey has emerged as one of Virginia Tech's top overall defensive back targets in the 2021 class with the Hokies pushing hard to try to land the talented west coast prospect.

Those efforts are paying off as Harvey told us that Virginia Tech is among 5 schools currently standing out in his recruitment along with Texas, Oregon, USC, and California. Harvey also added that those 5 schools are also the five programs that are currently recruiting him the hardest, another sign of how elite programs from across the country see Harvey as a top cornerback recruit overall.

Virginia Tech previously made the top 8 for four-star CB D.J. Harvey weeks after he took a "Midnight Madness" visit to the Hokies. Now, it's clear that the Hokies are continuing to build more and more momentum in his recruitment with everything we've heard pointing towards Tech being a top contender for Harvey.

We'll have a more in-depth story on Harvey coming later this week as well.

3* DB Jalen Stroman Sets Commitment Date

The brother of former Virginia Tech star CB Greg Stroman, Jalen Stroman, has set his commitment date for May 22nd according to Tech Sideline.

From the very moment that Virginia Tech got involved in his recruitment, the Hokies have been considered the heavy favorite to land the Northern Virginia star recruit and brother of a former Hokies' star. Tech's fairly strong record of landing younger brothers (see recent examples like the Edmunds brothers, the Gallos, etc) has been a big reason for confidence with Tech continuing to be the favorite on-paper ahead of this announcement.

The Hokies do have some challengers with Stroman previously telling us that the Hokies were in his top 3 along with Duke and Virginia. However, it's hard not to like the Hokies' chances from the strong visit they had with him earlier this year to how much Tech has prioritized him and the deep family connection. If I had to make a prediction today, I would comfortably put one in the favor of the Hokies.

Of course, there is still a full month to go in Stroman's recruitment and if 2020 has taught us anything, it's that nothing can be ruled out.
