After landing a commitment yesterday from talented WR Tray Curry, check out the latest Virginia Tech football recruiting notes on a pair of high school offensive targets plus a potential JUCO target.

3* WR Kylen Austin

Three-star WR Kylen Austin told us that he has four schools currently standing out in his recruitment: Virginia Tech, Virginia, East Carolina, and Liberty.

Austin told us that the Hokies are standing out for him because he can see himself "playing at VT and making a difference." The fact that Austin can envision himself making an impact with the Hokies is a great sign of how much traction that the Hokies have for him.

With the aforementioned Tray Curry and Jaylen Jones on board, the Hokies are almost certain to add no more than 1-2 more wide receivers this cycle with other talented recruits still on the board as well including 4* Jayden Thomas, 3* Da'Wain Lofton, 3* Skyler Bell, and 3* T.J. Huggins among the targets in addition to Austin.

Keep an eye on Austin as the Hokies remain a top contender to land the talented Baltimore wide receiver.

RB Malachi Thomas

Malachi Thomas continues to be one of Virginia Tech's top running back targets with the Hokies still in a strong position for us.

Thomas told us that the Hokies are among several schools currently standing out for him along with Kansas State, Duke, East Carolina, Applachian State, Georgia Southern, and Western Kentucky.

Thomas is a very intriguing prospect as a versatile running back who can be an every-down player as a quality runner and receiver. He also has the skill set to push for a job as a kick returner as his high school team's current kick returner with Tech special teams coordinator James Shibest having a preference for running backs returning kickoffs.

Thomas remains a running back to watch as the Hokies look to add 1-2 more to a class that already includes three-star South Carolinian Chance Black.

JUCO WR Kaedin Robinson

Virginia Tech is continuing to evaluate the JUCO ranks for potential targets with an increase recently likely due to the lack of a fall JUCO season as the NJCAA recently announced.

Yesterday, we mentioned that the Hokies are looking at Glendale College OL Ben Martinez, but he isn't the only potential JUCO target as Tech is also starting to show interest in ASA College Brooklyn WR Kaedin Robinson.

Robinson told us that WRs coach Jafar Williams reached out to him yesterday with the two having a "great" conversation. This comes after Robinson had an impressive freshman JUCO season with 37 receptions for 879 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Robinson told us that East Carolina, UCF, and Appalachian State are currently standing out for the Asheville, NC native. Robinson does have a Power 5 offer from Washington State, and is also receiving interest from Oklahoma State, Louisville, West Virginia, Syracuse, and Rutgers in addition to the Hokies.

Keep an eye on Robinson as the Hokies once again look to the JUCO ranks as a potential area to find more talent to supplement their 2021 roster.
