Check out the latest Virginia Tech football recruiting notes as much of VT's recruiting focus has shifted to the 2022 class, but there are still guys Tech has their eyes on in the 2021 cycle.

JUCO 3* WR Kaedin Robinson

Virginia Tech just missed out on talented JUCO WR Kaedin Robinson to UCF this summer, but that hasn't stopped the Hokies from continuing to recruit him and see if they can flip the JUCO playmaker.

Robinson told us that he continues to hear from Virginia Tech on a weekly basis with WRs coach Jafar Williams leading the charge. He had this to say about his relationship and conversations with Williams that usually go well beyond football.

"He just calls every week and checks up on me, asks me how I’m doing, how my family is doing. It’s never really about ball. We’ve had a few conversations about ball but he always wants to know about more important things!" Robinson said.

The Hokies, Louisville, and Appalachian State are the three teams that are having some sort of regular contact with Robinson currently outside of UCF where he's currently committed.

Robinson has told us that he has had thoughts about re-opening his recruitment, but had this to say about where he stands with his commitment to UCF.

"I’m 100% with UCF. With VT I would have to take a extra class just to get into the school because I was a non qualifier out of high school. And with app they just call me every other day, we have a great relationship

Robinson does plan to be an early enrollee, but still has plenty of time to take the class he needs which he told us would take about six weeks to complete, giving him a couple months of flexibility currently.

Keep an eye on Robinson as the Hokies continue to look at adding some high-end JUCO talent this cycle.

DT Justice Williams

Virginia Tech had shown some interest in Justice Williams but that has cooled off some recently.

Williams told us over the weekend that he hasn't heard from the Hokies yet this month. There is a chance that could have changed or could change in the near future if he can could put together a strong senior season.

So far, he's shown plenty of promise with 4 tackles including 2 for loss and a sack in his senior season opener. That could bring more schools calling soon at higher levels with Austin Peay being among those currently pursuing him.

Williams remains a name to watch especially with the Hokies looking to add a defensive tackle this cycle but for now, things have cooled off involving VT here.

2022 DE Jaylon White

Jaylon White is another talented, in-state defensive line prospect emerging in the 2022 class with the 6'4'', 227-pound 757 defensive end receiving plenty of interest.

White told us that the Hokies are among the teams who have reached out to him recently with defensive line coach Bill Teerlinck being the point of contact. Additonally, White told us that he has received interest from Indiana, Maryland, East Carolina, Marshall, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, and more.

White definitely brings the type of size and frame that Teerlinck and Darryl Tapp are looking to improve on their defensive line as we've seen with who Tech has been pursuing and landing along the defensive line. Virginia has also seen a surge in defensive line talent the past two cycles with White being among the numerous talented, in-state defensive linemen to emerge.

Jaylon White's recruitment could be poised to take off in the not too distant future even though he may not have a chance to do so in a normal game environment till the spring.
