This will be the first time since October 2017 that Virginia Tech will wear orange helmets. The Hokies wore this exact uniform combination for the 2016 Orange Effect game against East Carolina. The Hokies cruised to a 54-17 win in that contest.
While many fans were campaigning for a return of orange jerseys, Virginia Tech decided to stick with the traditional home maroon. The Hokies have not worn orange jerseys since the infamous road loss to Old Dominion last season.
This week’s uniforms will be on display when Virginia Tech takes on Furman tomorrow at noon inside Lane Stadium. The game kicks off at noon and will be broadcast on ACC Network.
