Virginia Tech's third scheduled home opener of the fall has a network and kickoff time as the Hokies and N.C. State will kick off at 8pm on the ACC Network.
Virginia Tech originally was supposed to start the season against the Wolfpack on September 12th, but the game was pushed back due to COVID-19 issues for N.C. State.
The Hokies' subsequent game against in-state rival Virginia was also postponed, this time due to COVID-19 troubles within Virginia Tech’s team.
The last time the Hokies squared off against the Wolfpack was in 2015, where Virginia Tech came out victorious by a final score of 28-13.
While this game will open the season for the Hokies, N.C. State will open up its season on September 19th against Wake Forest
This game will be telling for both teams, as Virginia Tech is currently ranked 20th in the AP poll, whereas North Carolina State remains unranked with both having not played yet though N.C. State gets their season opener this weekend.
The Hokies are expected to resume football activities sometime over the next couple days in preparation for the game following a four day pause on the program due to COVID concerns. that started this past Saturday.
However, that could change depending on upcoming test results and contact tracing fallout from tests within the football program and around Blacksburg as a whole.
