Virginia Tech extended an offer to three-star offensive tackle Christopher Adams one month ago to today with the Hokies since becoming a top contender for the three-star offensive tackle.

More than that, it's clear now that the Hokies are the current favorite to land the Hagerstown, Maryland recruit.

Adams told us that Virginia Tech, Syracuse, FIU, Old Dominion, and James Madison are currently standing out for him with the Hokies being the leader among those schools that are standing out for him. He had this to say about why the Hokies are standing out for him.

"Because it close to home and the people they have I believe run a successful team and build real character in their recruits," Adams said.

Christopher Adams also added that the reason why Tech leads among the schools standing out in his recruitment is "because they showed me why others value it, it’s a brotherhood for life."

Tech is also making a big push for him with the Hokies and Old Dominion recruiting him the hardest. Offensive line coach Vance Vice is leading the charge with Adams telling us that he regularly has "real" conversations centered around "becoming a Hokie."

While Adams has a solid offer list that includes the Hokies and Syracus, more programs could join that group soon with N.C. State, Duke, Rutgers, and UCONN also currently showing interest in Adams.

This should come as no surprise as Adams is a very intriguing offensive tackle at 6'5'' and 270 pounds who could have potentially taken off in a usual offseason with spring and summer camps.

So what are the strengths of Adams' game that are attracting teams and the weaknesses that, if improved upon, can take his game up a few levels? The Hagerstown star had this to say.

"My strength are giving my full attention to the game and my size. My weakness is sometimes my under step," Adams said.

Looking ahead, Adams doesn't have a specific timeline for a decision though "late September" could be possible for making his commitment.

When he does make his commitment, it's pretty clear that Virginia Tech will be one of the top schools under consideration.
