Virginia Tech Men's Basketball Reveals 2019-20 ACC Schedule

After weeks of waiting, the official 2019-20 ACC men's basketball schedule is here with Virginia Tech fans having plenty of reason to be happy especially Tech students.

The schedule is almost an ideal draw for the Hokies with the biggest three home games against Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina all happening with students on campus. The biggest surprise came with Duke as the Blue Devils will be the Hokies' home opener on either December 6th or 7th (Friday or Saturday) while the home games against the Tar Heels and Cavaliers will take place on Wednesdays during January and February.

There are plenty of reason for Hokie fans to be happy beyond the fact that both of the additional ACC games were not pushed over school breaks. Virginia Tech will only have two games when students aren't in town on January 11th and 18th against NC State and Syracuse respectively. Both of those games will also be on the final two Saturdays before the resumption of classes, setting those games up to still be well-attended even without a full number of students on campus.

Additionally, the Hokies will have at least 5 of their 10 ACC home games take place on Saturday, a major plus for Virginia Tech after having an imbalance of home weekday and Saturday ACC games over the past few years. The biggest winner in this may be Virginia Tech with the biggest games that are sure to sellout coming in the middle of the week and games that could struggle to sell coming on Saturdays that are much preferred for getting fans to Blacksburg for a game.

Virginia Tech will also be featured plenty of times on the ACC Network during ACC play with 9 games already set for the ACC Network compared to only 5 games already scheduled to be on one of the other ESPN family of networks.
