Top Virginia Tech Target P.J. Hall Sets Commitment Date, Finalists

VT Students Miami 1

After taking an official visit to Virginia Tech less than two weeks ago, four-star PF P.J. Hall is ready to make his collegiate decision and is down to 2 schools.

According to comments by Hall's coach to national reporters, P.J. Hall will make his decision this Thursday and choose either Virginia Tech or Clemson. Both schools have made Hall a top priority with the Hokies entering his upcoming commitment date as the favorites having received Hall's last official visit.

Also, all signs are that Hall's official went well from the very beginning when VT rolled out a literal red carpet upon his arrival in Blacksburg.

While Clemson has the in-state connection, Virginia Tech has some serious family connections that have helped give them an advantage.

The biggest ones come from Mike Young's time at Wofford with Hall's father playing for Young and P.J. himself participating in Mike Young basketball camps growing up in Spartanburg, SC. Additionally, VT has made it clear Hall wad a top priority with the four-star big man being one of Mike Young's first offer.

If Hall chose the Hokies, he would give Virginia Tech three consensus top 100 recruits for what appears to be the first time in school history. Hall also fits well with a class that already has a talented pair of guards committed in four-star recruits Joe Bamisile and Darius Maddox.

Update

National reporters reported yesterday that P.J. Hall has moved his announcement up a day to Wednesday, October 23rd, out of respect to the family of a Dorman high school student who passed away recently. Our prayers are with that student's family and the Dorman community in this difficult time.
