The Hokies are 23rd in both the AP and Coaches Polls, dropping four spots in the AP and five spots in the Coaches from last week's rankings.
Virginia Tech is among 5 ACC teams ranked in the AP Poll with Clemson at #1, Notre Dame at #4, North Carolina at #5, and Miami at #13. In the Coaches Poll, those four ACC teams are also ranked alongside the Hokies with Clemson at #1, Notre Dame at #4, North Carolina at #6, and Miami at #12.
N.C. State and Boston College, VT's next opponent, received votes in both polls while Virginia also received votes only from the AP Poll.
Tech will now have a great opportunity to move up the rankings against a Boston College team that may be a win away from being ranked. The next four weeks present a great opportunity as a whole for the Hokies to get on the roll and climb the rankings before they host Miami in what may be an ACC Championship elimination game.
