Taja Cole's collegiate career may have come to an abrupt end, but her professional career is about to take off overseas in Spain.

Cole recently agreed to a deal with Unicaja Femenino Baloncesto in Malaga, Spain. She becomes the latest Hokie to sign a professional deal overseas along with other recent graduates like Taylor Emery and Regan Magarity.

It shouldn't come as a surprise to see Cole sign a professional contract in Spain after she averaged 9.6 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in 30 starts this past season leading the ACC in assists. This comes one year after Cole also led the SEC in assists at Georgia prior to her transfer to Virginia Tech.

Cole is a talented point guard who is more of a throwback point that is a distributor first and scorer second. Her game should also adapt well to the international game where having a high-end distributor can help a club like Malaga climb the ranks well.

If she can continue to grow into a better scorer and not just a high-end distributor, she can rise the ranks to playing in the best leagues in the world whether that's the WNBA or the Women's EuroLeague.
