Virginia Tech has made four-star OT Wyatt Milum one of their top overall priorities in the 2021 class with Milum reciprocating that by making it clear Sunday that VT is one of his top priorities.

The Hokies were joined in Wyatt Milum's top 6 by Alabama, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Penn State, and in-state West Virginia. Milum left off multiple other major programs including Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Florida State, Michigan State, and more.

Virginia Tech has been emerging as one of the frontrunners for Milum with the talented offensive tackle having made multiple trips this year to Blacksburg.

The Hokies also have an interesting connection to keep an eye on as Milum was teammates with current starting right guard Doug Nester. That connection appeared to open the door for VT to become a player in his recruitment with the Hokies seizing the opportunity and emerging as a frontrunner.

The fact that Milum has cut down his list as he has now may be a sign that we may only be a few months away from a final decision. However, Milum has been rather reserved about his recruitment in general with no clear indication that he has any timeline for a decision just yet.

Milum has the potential to become the third offensive lineman ranked as a top 200 overall recruit by the 247 Sports Composite to choose the Hokies alongside Bryan Hudson and the aforementioned Doug Nester. Landing Milum, especially early, would give VT the type of big name foundational recruiting piece that could attract lots of other elite talent in a 2021 class where the Mid-Atlantic, and especially Virginia, that is as strong as it has been in a long time.
